Our commitment

NY-LA Scoring and Sound Design Co, LLC wants everyone to be able to hear our work and reach our team, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, switch devices, magnification or captions. We design and test this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the standard commonly used to measure accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Our own pages, navigation and contact form are designed to fully meet the standard; the exceptions are the third-party media described under known limitations below.

What we do

  • Every feature works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
  • Text and interface colors meet WCAG AA contrast ratios on every background used on the site.
  • Headings, landmarks and lists describe the page structure for screen readers; images have text alternatives and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Animations respect your device’s reduced-motion setting, and a pause control stops every moving element on the page.
  • The contact form has visible labels, input-purpose hints for autofill, and clear error messages that are announced to screen readers.
  • Pages reflow to a single column down to 320 CSS pixels wide and remain usable at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
  • Interactive targets are at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, and focused elements are never hidden behind the sticky header.
  • The video and audio players load only when you choose to play them, so nothing plays automatically.

Known limitations

Demo reel video
Our demo reel is hosted on Vimeo and does not yet have captions or audio description. We are adding captions on Vimeo, and the player is set to show English captions automatically once they are published. Until then, a text description sits beside the video, and we will send a written description of any excerpt on request.
Third-party players
The Vimeo and SoundCloud players are provided by those services. We cannot fully control their accessibility, but both can be operated by keyboard and offer their own accessibility features.

How we test

We check the site with automated tools (axe-core and Google Lighthouse) and by hand: keyboard-only navigation, zoom and reflow, reduced-motion settings and color contrast. We review it again whenever we make significant changes.
